Pilot programs opening in Australia

The crew works outside.
The app finally does too.

PocketMode is a rostering, clock-on and timesheet app for outdoor crews. One app on the phone your crew already carries. Works with no reception. You pay for hours worked, not seats.

What is in the app

Everything a crew in the field actually needs.

Rostering and timesheets are the job. The safety record comes out of doing that job properly, rather than out of another form.

Rostering

Build the week, publish it, push changes to the crew. Every version is kept.

Geofencing

Sites you draw once. The fence runs for the length of the shift, not a single ping at the gate.

Clock on and off

Start and finish at the site, with travel and setup counted.

Timesheets

Worked time, breaks and approvals, ready on Friday instead of reconstructed on Friday.

Phone distraction status

Whether a smartphone was pocketed or held, classified on the device. A property of the record, never a score against a person.

Heat and weather alerts

Heat, rain, wind and storm risk reach the manager the night before.

Near miss reporting

About 20 seconds, from the same app. Anonymously if the worker would rather.

Manager dashboard

Who is on site, where the crews are, and how the day actually ran.

A worker in high-visibility clothing checking a smartphone beside a haul road.

Signal drops. The app doesn't.

It keeps recording offline and syncs when signal returns.

Why not the usual platform

Workforce software was built for the shop floor.

A civil crew spread across 4 kilometres of road corridor, a mine site with no public network and a farm 2 hours from anywhere are different conditions. Different conditions need a different product.

Works with no reception

Records on the smartphone, syncs when signal returns. No gaps, no lost time.

No hardware, no beacons

One app on the phone the crew already carries. Nothing to buy or charge.

You pay for hours, not seats

No seat fee, no minimum. A wet week costs you what the crew worked.

Pricing

Seven and a half cents an hour. Nothing when it rains.

A seat fee suits an office where the same people sit at the same desks all year. It suits a crew that doubles for a shutdown and disappears for the wet season considerably less well.
